POEM Procedure
A step-by-step procedural illustration of peroral endoscopic myotomy, or POEM. This procedure is used to treat achalasia, where an ESD knife is used to tunnel into the submucosa and then resect the circular muscle layer of the esophagus, so to reduce excessive pressure and allow a more natural flow of the food bolus.
