This animation is part of a larger series created for the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute’s (NHLBI) Health Topics Website, a patient education website focused on heart, lung, and blood diseases and common diagnostic and therapeutic techniques. The objective was to create clear concise illustrations and animations that give patients and their families a fundamental understanding of the disease and what it affects within their body.
